Petition for a Working Life Museum and Community Development Trust for Longbridge

In a newspaper article on Friday 23rd December 2011 (the 'i' newspaper article entitled 'Home is where the factory was) Professor of Community History at Birmingham University, Carl Chinn said: "I'd urge the developers [of the Longbridge site] to bring in Public Art and even a museum that recognises the workers, the designers. We need to make our children and our children's children know about Longbridge, and about the pride and status of the place.'

We the undersigned request that Birmingham City Council look in to the feasibility of developing, with partners, a Working Life Museum in Longbridge in order to preserve and promote the local history of the area, ideally as part of a community led Community Development Trust which could also provide support for the local community in to the future.
